The Chairman of Ajara AR Government Archil Khabadze and the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport Gia Tavamaishvili are paying their official visit to Paris, France. The delegation is participating in the events planned by the Assembly of European Regions. They are attending the 3rd Summit of the ERA. The main theme of the conference is - Facing the Crisis of European Regions.
Speakers will speak about the completed works for the purpose of overcoming the crisis since 2012. Archil Khabadze and Gia Tavamaishvili will attend the ERA General Assembly today and the extraordinary general assembly tomorrow.
The Assembly of European Regions (AER) is the largest independent network of regional authorities in wider Europe, bringing together over 250 regions from 35 countries along with 16 interregional organisations. On 15 June 1985, 7 Regions and 9 interregional organisations founded the Council of the Regions of Europe (CRE), which would later become the Assembly of European Regions in November 1987. On October 24, 1997, Ajara became a full member of the Assembly.
